Pomaikaʻi Au, which means I am blessed, is a design and lifestyle brand created to help young families in Hawaiʻi keep a Christ centered home. Everyone has been blessed in one way or another and bringing a baby into this world is just one of the multitudes of blessings we receive from God. Being a new parent is tough and we all want to be able to raise our children to be good people, but where do we start? I want to lend a helping hand to other parents out there by spreading God's truth using my design talents. The mission is to use these skills that i've been gifted with to provide parents the information, resources and products they need to teach themselves and their children how to begin growing a relationship with God. We also want to promote relationships between friends and families by providing design services for events and gatherings.
When creating our logo I wanted to make sure I was sending Hawaiʻi a good message. In high school I designed a similar logo to print on shirts for my church youth group for us to wear at the Hana rally in Maui. Back then it was just a simple silhouette of the cross replacing a new shoot in the middle of a kalo, or taro plant. For our business logo I wanted to glorify Christ in a way that people could relate to. The Hawaiians and Polynesians sustained on kalo for thousands of years as one of their main sources of food and life. I put Jesus in the center of the kalo plant to symbolize that what He did on the cross is what sustains us yesterday, today and forever. The circle around the plant represents the circle of life and the eternity that we are gifted from Christ our Lord.
I designed the text part of our logo right before our son was born to create a custom blanket to welcome my little warrior into this world. I wanted to make sure he knew that he was one of our biggest blessings. We could have lost him when I was sick and we were just so incredibly grateful that I was able to carry him full term. I gave birth to my healthy baby boy on April 8th of 2016. Since then my life has been filled with so much peace and joy. I was alive, my son was alive, and my husband didn't lose his family even though he thought he would. Don't ever forget that every single one of us have blessings to be thankful for.
Meet The Owners!
Meet the owners of Pōmaikaʻi Au! Aloha, I am Lealani and this is my husband Kelsin. As young parents at 21 and 23 years old we understand things don't come easy. Hardships are constantly coming up and sometimes life just feels like it's incredibly hard to handle. In the past few years we have gone through some tough seasons. First I got sick while pregnant and almost died with our son. Then right before our sons 1st Birthday all 3 of us were involved in a car accident. We lost our new car that we had just bought, but I didn't lose my husband, I didn't lose my son and I didn't lose my life again. We were so happy that our son left the scene with out a bruise or scratch. Though I was bruised up pretty bad I was just grateful that I didn't lose my husband. He was inches away from being crushed. He even lost consciousness for a short while but as soon as he woke up he was our hero. There was smoke coming out of the car and he got up like nothing happened to him so that he could get us out. And that was all that mattered to us. That we all got out. To be honest I don't know what I would of done if I had lost him that day. But by Gods Mercy and grace we were all saved. Little did I know that my Father up above would answer a multitude of prayers through these circumstances. Now our lives are being transformed into something wonderful. We chose to make that decision to live our lives with Christ. We chose to allow him to work through us during difficult times. And we pray that you choose the same. No matter what you are dealing with in life right now God promises that you will reap the benefits of his blessings forever if you just surrender your heart to him.
"If you confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved." - Romans 10:9

This was me recovering in ICU in December of 2015 right after my emergency surgery. I was admitted on Christmas day and I was 6 months pregnant with my first child and had no idea that I was dying. I had been misdiagnosed multiple times until I became septic with a 103 degree fever and my body had begun shutting down. It ended up being a kidney stone that got stuck in one of my tubes and it blocked all the different antibiotics they gave me from flushing the infection out of my body. Although I was in a daze the entire time I was hospitalized I was never worried. I didn't think I was dying. I was never mad at God for putting me there. I just had this peace within me that everything was going to be okay and my baby boy would survive all that we were going through together. I knew God was with me and he gave me the strength to get through it. I believe that no matter the outcome our Lord will take any situation and give you what is necessary to turn something bad into something good. Remember that His blessings upon us are infinite as long as we never give up our faith.
